Afterwards, Kinga, a D.Phil. student in Education, will show us how using tablets can facilitate the study of Mathematics in schools.

Wednesday 25 February, 7.45pm, Nissan Lecture Theatre, St Antony's CollegeNon-limiting BordersThe History LessonScreening of a documentary film directed by Dušan Trančík about how secondary school students in Slovakia and in Hungary are taught about the Treaty of Trianon. The evening is opened by Professor Robert Evans, followed by his talk about the events of World War I which led to the Treaty of Trianon. After the screening, Prof Evans will lead an audience discussion with the director. This event is co-organised with the Oxford University Czech and Slovak Society.

Wednesday 4 March, 6pm, MRC Anatomical Neuropharmacology UnitPéter Somogyi and Linda KatonaCo-operation in Space and Time in the BrainThe eminent neuroscientist and his fellow researcher introduce us to the labyrinth of brain cells which help us to perceive time and space. They also discuss the work of Prof. Somogyi’s friend, Daniel O’Keefe, recipient of the Nobel Prize.
